Today, I visited a charming little place called Gallery Restaurant located in Cheongyang, Chungcheongnam-do.
The exterior is decorated with colorful signage that immediately catches your eye from a distance.
It has a lovely, cheerful vibe that makes you curious even before stepping inside.
Interior Filled with Warmth and Nostalgia
As you walk up to the second floor, you'll be greeted by sunlit window seats and vintage floral tablecloths.
The decor gave me warm, nostalgic feelings—reminding me of cozy family diners I used to visit with my parents as a child.
A Thoughtfully Curated Meal
One of the highlights of this restaurant is that the meal includes a free dessert set—coffee, green tea, and ice cream.
I ordered the homemade pork cutlet (donkatsu), and the meal started with a creamy corn soup and a fresh salad.
The soup was delightfully smooth and sweet—perfect to dip some bread into and enjoy.
The yuzu dressing on the salad was refreshingly tangy and seemed like it was homemade.
Main Dish — Handmade Pork Cutlet
The pork cutlet was thick, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside—just the way I like it. The sweet demi-glace sauce was topped with a light drizzle of mustard, enhancing the flavor beautifully.
What stood out most was the sauce—it didn’t taste like a store-bought kind.
As Cheongyang is known for spicy chili peppers, the sauce had a subtle hint of spice, making it truly unique.
I loved it so much I wiped the plate clean!
Don’t Miss the Dessert!
After the meal, a hot Americano, green tea, and a bowl of chocolate-drizzled ice cream with colorful sprinkles were served—each item neatly presented with care. It made for a lovely finish to the meal.

The menu is diverse—ranging from pork cutlets, pasta, pizza, fried rice, to rice bowls.
Prices range from 12,000 to 18,000 KRW, which I found very reasonable for the quality and service.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a cozy and nostalgic dining experience in Cheongyang, I highly recommend Gallery Restaurant. Great value, warm atmosphere, and a full-course experience from starter to dessert.
